Woodworm Treatment
Woodworm is the most common type of beetle infestation in the UK, which leads many people to call any kind of timber infestation “woodworm”. The true woodworm beetle (Anobium punctatum) can infest not only flooring and timbers in houses but also timber furniture. Where necessary, we use the latest water-based materials to treat woodworm infestations, offering long-term guarantees on all work and products used.
In many instances, we find that natural ventilation below floorboards is compromised, resulting in damp conditions prevailing below floor level. Beetles just love the dark damp timbers which can be found sometimes below the floor and correct below-floor ventilation is always to be considered prior to treatment with chemicals.
In all cases, we will conduct a full survey, share our findings with you, and offer the best treatments for cases of wood corruption.
Wet and Dry Rot
Similarly, poor ventilation can lead to fungal growth and rot on and in timbers below floor level, which can cause wet or dry rot. We have been asked many times over the years to offer remedial treatments and often find that providing proper ventilation and replacing timber where required will tackle the problems.
On occasion, we use water-based insecticides and fungal fluids if needed. Backed by more than 15 years of experience, our operatives are experts in investigating and resolving these issues, and we will always offer the correct remedial treatment for your needs, without chemicals if possible.
